The advantages of using cleaning cards have been proven time and time again. Regular use improves read performance and dramatically reduced maintenance costs. Our customers regularly analyses the use of cleaning cards in order to justify their purchase, and below are two examples of these studies.

One major retailer has many petrol stations with a facility to pay at the pump. The use of cleaning cards in the pump card readers happens not to be a mandatory process under their operations manual. Each station is responsible for buying their own cards, and it so happens that some buy more than others. The retailer was able to analyses the cost of engineer servicing of card readers against the number of cleaning cards purchased. This analysis clearly showed that those stations buying more cleaning cards had much lower engineering costs. Cleaning the readers has now become a mandatory part of their process.

Another major retailer leases it till equipment from a major manufacturer. The manufacturer is responsible for serving equipment that has failed. In a recent study, of 180 service visits made each week, over 60% of reader failures were resolved by simply using a cleaning card.
